Rodless Cylinder is a pneumatic device that uses compressed air to push the brake disc or brake drum in the vehicle braking system to the steel ring or brake drum. Its main structure and working principle are as follows:
1. Cylinder body: The main body of the rodless cylinder, the internal chamber stores compressed air and converts air pressure into thrust output.
2. Piston and piston rod: The piston moves under the action of air pressure and pushes the brake disc or brake drum by the piston rod. The piston needs to be made of wear-resistant and well-sealed materials.
3. Sealing ring: Ensure the air sealing in the cylinder to avoid compressed air leakage. The sealing ring directly affects the braking effect, and rubber with good high temperature and wear resistance should be selected.
4. Air port and valve: The compressed air cavity enters the cylinder chamber through the air port, and the valve is used to control the inflow and discharge of air.
5. Protective pad: Installed between the brake disc or drum and the steel ring to prevent the two from direct contact and wear.
6. Horseshoe: The cylinder base is used to fix the cylinder and is installed on the frame by bolts.
Working principle: Usually when the driver steps on the brake pedal, compressed air is filled into the cylinder chamber from the air tank through the air pipe and air port. The air pressure pushes the piston and piston rod, pushing the brake disc or drum to the steel ring to create a braking effect. When the pedal is released, the valve discharges the air in the cylinder, and the brake system is restored by the reset force of the spring.
As the actuator of the vehicle braking system, the rodless cylinder directly affects the braking performance and safety of the vehicle. It needs to have the characteristics of high temperature resistance, wear resistance, good sealing and rapid response, in order to ensure effective and safe braking of the vehicle. The selection and maintenance of the rodless cylinder are crucial.
