The compressed air source for the piston of the shift cylinder and the stop rings at each level to generate the action is realized through the operation of the eight-position shift valve. In the air circuit system composed of the cylinder and the shift valve, the shift valve is the control element and the shift cylinder is the actuator. The structure and working principle of both are relatively complex, and they are precision components, and the requirements for the working medium (compressed air) are also high.
