In non-standard automation equipment, some Rodless Cylinder connectors are often used, one of which is the floating joint.
The function of the floating joint: to eliminate the error caused by insufficient parallelism or eccentricity between the rodless cylinder and the driven part. The front end of the standard floating joint has a ±5° correctable angle, thereby protecting the rodless cylinder piston rod and the internal sealing ring of the rodless cylinder from damage. At the same time, it also greatly reduces the manufacturing difficulty of the processed parts and extends the service life of the rodless cylinder.
Here are some common uses of floating joints.
1. Standard floating joint--angle floating type
The main feature of this floating joint is that it can achieve an angle of ±5° floating. In addition, its own size is relatively long. It is mainly suitable for occasions with long-stroke rodless cylinders and ample installation space.

Angle floating type installation method
1. The piston rod, floating joint, and connecting plate are threaded together;
2. The position of the workpiece can be fine-tuned by adjusting the nut forward and backward;
3. It can adapt to the errors caused by inconsistent height and non-parallel neutral surfaces.

2. Floating joint--internal thread type
The internal thread type is mainly suitable for working occasions with compact space structure and short stroke.
Installation method of internal thread type
1. Just fix the floating joint to the piston rod of the rodless cylinder;
2. The connected part only needs to wire cut a "T"-shaped groove, which is simple to process;
3. The correction range is small.

3. Floating joint--flange installation type
It can be understood as a derivative of the second type, with basically the same functions.
